Introduction to Web
Second Semester AY 2007-2008
The course aims to provide the students sufficient knowledge about the World Wide Web. This course introduces the student the basics of web page designing with HTML and CSS in accordance with the current World Wide Web Consortium standards. Students will learn how to design website using HTML and CSS.
General Outline
At the end of the course, the students are expected to:
COGNITIVE:
1. Understand the World Wide Web
2. Determine how the web works.
AFFECTIVE:
1. Awareness in security threats in connection to networking specifically with on the web and e-business.
PSYCHOMOTOR:
1. Assess the security risks associates with e-business.
2. Develop security incident response procedures.

PRELIM
Objectives: At the end of the period the student will be able to:
1. Define and understand the World Wide Web
2. Determine how the Web works.
3. Comprehend and utilize the basics of HTML.

MIDTERM
Objectives: At the end of the period the student will be able to:
1. Insert images, link, tables, and forms on web pages using HTML.
2. Construct a website by the use of Frames.
3. Understand the essentials of Formatting web pages by the use of CSS.

SEMI FINAL
Objectives: At the end of the period the student will be able to:
1. Understand CSS formatting on web page through inline, internal, and external style sheets.
2. Comprehend basic CSS properties in formatting HTML documents.
3. Design an HTML document through the use of CSS
4. Understand the guidelines in Web Design.

2. Introduction to the CSS properties
3. Integration of CSS to HTML document
4. Do’s and Don’ts of Web Design
FINAL
Objectives: At the end of the period the student will be able to:
1. Understand HTML standards
2. Understand the significance and usage of metatags.
3. Be familiar with scripting language specifically Javascript.
4. Utilize CSS in defining display types of an element, page layout, and Pseudo Elements.
5. Create and publish a website online.
